Donna and her daughter moved to Lincoln in June when she was offered a job as a nanny. They couldn’t afford to hire movers, so they took only what they could fit in their car.
Unfortunately, when they arrived in Lincoln, Donna found out the job offer had fallen through and she was now in a new city with no home, no job, with only the few possessions she was able to fit into her car. That’s when someone alerted her about our Homeless Distribution Center (HPC).
Thankfully we were able to provide this young family with fresh food and clothing at no cost. This enabled Donna to take what little money she had and find an apartment for them to live in. When a kitchen table was stolen off the top of her car, we replaced that for her too.
Did you know there are many people in Lincoln struggling to make ends meet? Making the difficult choices about going without food, shelter or clothing. Our Homeless Prevention Center is there to help them. We can do this because of the wonderful support we receive from the community. Almost all of the things we give away come directly from the public.
And this Center is really making a difference to those in need. So far this year we have served over 12,000 individuals, given out more than 670,000 pounds of food and distributed over 380,000 household goods and personal care items.
Just know this outreach doesn’t happen without lots of prayer and financial support. Would you consider making a donation to us this month? Most of our funding comes from public contributions like yours and we are real need of your help right now. Your wonderful partnership helps us minister to so many needy folks.
Thanks so much for your kindness and interest in helping struggling people. May the Lord bless you richly!
His blessings to you,
Pastor Tom
P.S. The HPC moved to a new location last month and is now on the corner of 26th and O streets. Perhaps you can visit it sometime and tour the new facility?
