EDEFY Lead Camp Counselors - Seasonal/unpaid Internship

Job Purpose: Club EDEFY is the youth program at PCM, it stands for: Encouragement, Discipleship, Evangelism, and Fellowship for Youth. Lead Camp Counselors are responsible for the morning and afternoon programming for the EDEFY Summer Day Camp. The Lead Counselors will work closely with the Family Shelter and will assist in coordinating and implementing day camp programs for the 50-60 homeless youth (ages 5-18) at PCM. All staff work together to model the love of Jesus and encourage the campers’ growth mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead and/or delegate all camp electives such as swimming, sports, creative arts, etc.
• Intentionally engage youth in all activities
• Provide a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all youth
• Apply appropriate behavior management by using Club EDEFY procedures
• Model patience, compassion, great listening and communication skills, Christian spirit and the ability to relate to children and teens
• Communicate to parents and youth regarding accident/injury/discipline procedures when necessary
• Encourage and motivate interns in order to accomplish overall program goals
• Clearly communicate with staff regarding daily schedules, discipline, and expectations
• Lead/schedule ministry time with our children (worship, prayer, bible lesson)
• Other duties as assigned
Compensation:
• 3 free meals per day
• Room and board onsite if needed
• Can be used for internship credit
• Access to PCM Free Medical Clinic
Minimum Requirements: A strong candidate will be a high school graduate and be a minimum of 21 years of age. This person will demonstrate Christian maturity and ability to work with children and teens.

PCM Men's Shelter Supervisor
Job Purpose: Men’s Shelter Supervisors are responsible for the operation of a 101-bed men’s emergency shelter. In addition to the procedural requirements, Supervisors also conduct case work individually with a number of guests. Our goal is not just to meet our guest’s basic needs, but also to assist them in making positive changes in their lives.
Job Responsibilities:
• Conducting oneself in a Christ-like manner
• Overseeing day-to-day operations of the shelter
• Working one-on-one with a core group of 10–20 guests, helping them set and achieve goals
• Counseling guests who are in a time of crisis
• Mediating conflicts
• Collaborating with other local agencies
Requirements:
• Solid, consistent decision making, always with the guest’s best interest in mind
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to remain calm and rational, even in stressful situations
• Basic computer skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
