PCM SHELTER: MEN’S SHELTER ON-CALL SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION: Being an On-Call Supervisor in the Men’s Shelter comes with a wide variety of responsibilities. In general, it is overseeing the day-to-day operation of a 101-bed emergency shelter.
Specific duties include*:
- Procedural Tasks: evening check-in and morning wake-ups
- Office Duties: including answering the phone or distributing mail
- Spiritual Responsibilities: such as counseling guests who are in crisis or offering prayer
*This list is far from comprehensive, as each day in the Men’s Shelter is unique. Ultimately, we are trying to communicate the love of Christ to our guests in all of our actions, even the mundane ones.
HOURS: Depending on shift availability, hours per week could range between 5 and 30. We are a 24 hour shelter, so there are shifts available at all times of the day.
On-Call Supervisors are utilized when one of the Full-Time Supervisors are off, usually for vacation or sick time. For vacations, we try to make a schedule at least one week in advance. We contact On-Call Supervisors about their availability and schedule accordingly. When a Full-Time Supervisor is sick, On-Call Supervisors are contacted by phone.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required.
MEDICAL CLINIC: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OR NURSE PRACTITIONER
The People’s City Mission Free Medical Clinic is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who is certified in family medicine or internal medicine to take a lead role in a busy medical clinic.
THE IDEAL CANIDATE: Would be passionate about the people you serve and have a heart for the underserved. Detail oriented. A team player, that is easy going and can maintain calm in the midst of chaos. One who sees change as an opportunity, and is excited about mentoring the future generation of medical providers.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of an accredited program for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Incumbents must have a current, valid license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Nebraska or be eligible to take boards within 3 months of hire and pass them. Must be Family Practice or Internal Medicine certified.
Consideration will be given to experienced PA or APRN and volunteer time at our clinic a plus.
HOURS: Monday: 1PM-8PM, Tuesday & Friday: 8AM-5PM, Wednesday & Thursday: 8AM-6PM. Occasional weekend, occasional call.
