Fund the Clinic
Did you know that more than 40,000 people in Lancaster County have no health insurance? Last year, our free medical clinic had nearly 11,000 patient visits, and this year our numbers are projected to exceed 15,000.
What is most surprising is that 91 percent of the people visiting us have no other connection to the Mission, either to our shelter or prevention center. They are just people in our community living as much as 200 percent below the poverty line, without health insurance.
You may think that the recent decision by the Supreme Court to uphold the Affordable Health Care Act will solve this problem, but, sadly, there are still many people who will not qualify for this program and others who do qualify will be unable to find doctors to see them.
We need your help!
Because we don't receive any financial support from the state or local government, we must cover the clinic's annual operating costs of $250,000. In our Fund the Clinic campaign, we are calling on people like you, who care about this cause and want to give hope to those in need.
