A Note from Our Staff - Kyle

Last month we started a simple worship time on Wednesdays. The idea was nothing elaborate, just a little music, prayer and a desire to see lives changed. It goes for an hour, different awesome singers, same God, same experience, same incredible time in prayer. Last night the crowd was small but the amazingness was large.

One person we prayed with was a father from the Family Side who used to "Sing for God" and lead a Men's recovery home on the streets of Chicago; the same streets that pulled him away from God and into many bad decisions, afflictions and tough problems. He came because his wife wanted him to, ha. A couple words in a song spoke to him, "Open the eyes of my heart, Lord". He came for prayer after worship, his heart now tender, his mind on the past yet clinging to the hope in a future surrendered to Jesus. The gentleman was right when he said he has a long way to go, we agreed and said yes but we all do. We all left encouraged.

This reminded me that no one is too far from the reach of God's love. Even in our weakest attempts, overwhelming moments and small daily tasks at the PCM we are revealing the love and beauty of our amazing God and who he has created us to be...  I know earlier this week I was a bit overwhelmed by the daily grind that sometimes is the Family Shelter. I came in to our worship night with one such attitude and was blown away by the freshness that time with God can bring and how he uses us even when we are weak.

Bless ya,

Kyle
